It is always an honour to record a happy couple’s wedding day and this was no exception. Louise and Martin and all their family and friends made me feel very welcome and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I would like to take this opportunity in wishing the happy couple lots of luck, love and happiness in their future together.

On Friday 31 July 2015 I had the pleasure of photographing Louise & Martin’s Wedding on a perfect summers day in Hemel Hempstead. There were blue skies, a warm breeze and glorious sunshine, which complimented the happy atmosphere perfectly.
The day started at Louise’s parents house where she and her five bridesmaids were getting ready. I love taking creative and artistic documentary shots capturing all the preparations and emotions unfolding around me.
There were tears all round, even from her dad, as Louise came down the stairs for the first time looking stunning in her wedding dress. This resulted in a huge hug which was a precious moment to capture. Shots like these make the preparations one of my favourite times to shoot.
Once at the beautiful Holy Trinity Church I got a couple of shots of Martin looking traditionally nervous as he awaited his beautiful bride.
As the bridal car arrived it was one of those moments where everything fell into place. Through an open window I captured an intimate moment between Louise and her Dad as she wiped a tear away, priceless!
There was a lovely atmosphere during the ceremony and the whole thing went without a hitch.
Due to the glare of the sun I did the group photos in the shade of the trees to save everyone squinting. This also worked really well in providing beautiful soft directional light for the Bridal Portraits, which helped in capturing the love and emotions between this beautiful couple.
Next we headed to Boxmoor Lodge for the reception were the wedding breakfast room was beautifully presented. Whilst the guests enjoyed a drink on arrival, I snuck off to capture the detail shots of the table dressings, cake, flowers and decorations.
All the best
